Dr. Athawale completed his MCh in Neurosurgery from Grant Government Medical College and Sir J.J. Group of Hospitals, Mumbai, following his MBBS from Government Medical College and Hospital, Aurangabad. His advanced training includes fellowships at the Burdenko Institute, Moscow, vascular neurosurgery training at Jefferson, Philadelphia, and endoscopic spine surgery training in Bordeaux, France.
